What happened

Treehouse Foods is recalling several brands of frozen blueberry protein waffles because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause illness. The recall affects products sold nationwide under the H-E-B Higher Harvest, Better Goods, Simple Truth, and Breakfast Best brand names.

Who is at risk

Everyone can get sick from Listeria, but pregnant women, young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems face more serious health risks.

What to do

Check your freezer for any of the recalled waffle products using the UPC codes listed and do not eat them. You can throw them away or return them to the store where you purchased them for a refund.
