What happened

Meijer is recalling brussels sprouts slices and other vegetable products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause illness. The contamination came from a supplier, and this is a voluntary recall by the company.

Who is at risk

While anyone can get sick from Listeria, pregnant women, young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems are at highest risk for serious illness.

What to do

If you purchased these products in IL, IN, KY, MI, OH, or WI, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to your local Meijer store. If you have eaten these products and develop symptoms like fever, muscle aches, or diarrhea, contact your doctor.
