What happened

Publix Super Markets is recalling Publix Steam in Bag Green Bean Butternut Squash because the butternut squash ingredient may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause illness. About 1,089 units were affected, and the product was not distributed beyond Publix stores.

Who is at risk

Everyone can be affected by Listeria, but pregnant women, young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems face the highest risk of serious illness.

What to do

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Return it to your local Publix store for a refund, or throw it away. Contact Publix or your doctor if you develop symptoms like fever, muscle aches, nausea, or diarrhea within 2-3 weeks of eating the product.
