Meijer Inc. is recalling Fresh From Meijer Broccoli Florets sold in their stores across six states because they may be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause serious illness. The recalled product has UPC 2-21234-00000-4 and PLU 4548, and includes both packaged florets and broccoli from store salad bars.

Who is at risk

Everyone should be cautious, but pregnant women, young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems face the highest risk of serious illness from Listeria.

What to do

If you purchased this broccoli from a Meijer store in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, or Wisconsin, do not eat it—throw it away or return it to your store. If you've already eaten it and develop symptoms like fever, muscle aches, or gastrointestinal issues, contact your doctor.
