What happened

Canteen Inc. (doing business as MG Foods, Inc.) recalled 34 Fresh to You Club Sub sandwiches with Italian dressing because the company found Listeria monocytogenes bacteria on one of their meat slicing machines during routine testing. No illnesses have been reported so far.

Who is at risk

While anyone can get sick from Listeria, pregnant women, young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems are at higher risk for serious illness.

What to do

If you purchased this product (UPC MGF9100) in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or West Virginia, do not eat it—throw it away or return it to the store. Contact your doctor if you develop symptoms like fever, muscle aches, or nausea within 2 weeks of eating the sandwich.
