What happened

NOW Foods is recalling their Ashwagandha Extract capsules (450 mg, 90-count bottles with blue caps) because they contain licorice extract that wasn't listed on the label. The recall affects approximately 2,571 bottles sold nationwide in the US and in the United Kingdom.

Who is at risk

People who should avoid licorice or have conditions affected by licorice (such as high blood pressure, heart problems, or kidney disease) are most at risk, as are those taking medications that interact with licorice.

What to do

If you have this product, stop taking it and check if your bottle matches the description (white plastic bottle with blue cap, code 4603). Contact NOW Foods or your retailer for a refund, or dispose of it safely.
