What happened

Garden-Fresh Foods recalled macaroni salad products because they contain onions that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a harmful bacteria. The onions came from a supplier, Gills Onions, that issued its own recall for the same reason.

Who is at risk

Pregnant women, young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems are most at risk from Listeria infection, though anyone can become ill.

What to do

Check your home for the recalled products using the package codes listed. If you have them, do not eat them—throw them away or return them to the store. Contact your doctor if you've eaten the recalled salad and develop symptoms like fever, muscle aches, or nausea.
