What happened

Garden-Fresh Foods is recalling their Family Style Macaroni Salad because it contains onions from a supplier that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause serious illness. The contaminated onions were originally recalled by the supplier, Gills Onions.

Who is at risk

Everyone who consumed this product could be at risk, but pregnant women, young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems are most vulnerable to serious complications from Listeria infection.

What to do

If you have this product, do not eat it—throw it away or return it to the store. Contact your doctor if you develop symptoms like fever, muscle aches, nausea, or diarrhea within 2-3 weeks of eating the recalled salad.
