What happened

Canteen Inc. found bacteria called Listeria monocytogenes on one of their meat slicers during testing. About 566 turkey and cheese sandwiches (6.56 oz packages, UPC MGF0596) may have been affected and were sold in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia.

Who is at risk

Everyone should be concerned, but pregnant women, young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems face the most serious health risks from this bacteria.

What to do

If you purchased this product, do not eat it—throw it away or return it to the store. Watch for symptoms like fever, muscle aches, or nausea over the next few weeks, and contact your doctor if they develop.
