What happened

Canteen Inc. (MG Foods) is recalling FRESH TO YOU Turkey & Swiss on Wheat sandwiches because a harmful bacteria called Listeria monocytogenes was found on one of their meat slicing machines. About 319 sandwiches were affected and sold in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia.

Who is at risk

This is most dangerous for pregnant women, young children, elderly people, and anyone with a weakened immune system, though anyone who ate the sandwich could potentially become ill.

What to do

If you bought this product (UPC MGF0283, 3.9oz size), do not eat it—throw it away or return it to where you bought it. If you experience symptoms like fever, muscle aches, or gastrointestinal problems within the next few weeks, contact your doctor and mention you may have eaten this sandwich.
