A sandwich company found harmful bacteria (Listeria monocytogenes) on one of their meat slicing machines during routine testing. About 195 turkey and Swiss sandwiches made on whole wheat rolls may be affected.

Who is at risk

Everyone should be concerned, but pregnant women, young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems face greater risk of serious illness from this bacteria.

What to do

If you purchased this sandwich (UPC MGF0854) in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or West Virginia, do not eat it—throw it away or return it to the store. Contact a doctor if you experience symptoms like fever, muscle aches, or nausea after eating this product.
